eBreak Hotels is an online travel directory dedicated to offering you direct access by the listing of hotel, guest house, cottages, villas, campsites stays and car rental in the UK and overseas.

By uniquely allowing you to search for 'Local Attractions', we provide you with a wide choice of nearby hotels, guest houses, cottages, villas, campsites and car hire companies - with over 1,000 to choose from in the UK, Europe and worldwide, and if you are looking for something a little extra, you can upgrade your accommodation to superior rooms and suites, or add on extras like flowers or champagne.

We are based in the UK in Berkshire. Our Customer Support team is also available 24 hours a day when you are overseas. We are going to Paris and would like to stay near the Eiffel Tower. How can we be sure that we can find a hotel close by and not miles away?

This is the unique feature of our website which we are very proud of and which we are sure that you will find very useful, but more importantly, less time consuming. We appreciate that people want to visit specific attractions and landmarks all over the world. The problems arise when trying to find nearby places to stay, our website feature overcomes this obstacle for you. In answer to the question: Start your Search from our Home Page. Just click on the 'Local Attractions' tab. Enter the Local Attraction where it says 'Keywords' i.e. 'Eiffel Tower'. Press 'Submit'. A list of hotels will come up in close proximity to the Eiffel Tower. For further details you should click on the hotels website link. You can find local places to stay in proximity to specific Local Attractions worldwide by carrying out this procedure.

When I enter the city in the Keyword box no hotels are displayed. What am I doing wrong?

You must ensure that you have selected what you are specifically searching for i.e. Hotels, Cottages, Villas, Campsites, Guest Houses, Hostels, Car Hire or Local Attractions. Firstly, click on one of the grey tabs above the Keyword box. Then enter relevant keywords such as the town or city, or even the name of the place you wish to stay. If you are still experiencing difficulties please email us at help@eBreakHotels.com and we will contact you to address your specific problems. (if this is urgent include a contact number so that we can call you back).

Is there a minimum age requirement for hotel bookings?

One member of your party must be at least 18 years of age to make a booking.

Can I book groups online?

For Group bookings over 9 people, we recommend you call the establishment directly.

Can a friend join me during my stay?

This will be determined by the proprietor of the establishment. Generally your room is booked for the people that you have included at the time of your booking. If you bring other people to the hotel who are not mentioned on the booking, the hotel is likely to charge you for the guest, probably at the room rate of the day. As such, we recommend that you don't have friends joining you at the hotel unless they have pre-booked.

What standard of accommodation can I book online?

We offer you a choice of hotels, guest houses, cottages, villas and campsites from budget 1* to luxury 5* properties. Our properties are mainly located in city centres or, for our sunshine destinations, near to the beach. Full details of each property can be found by clicking on 'View More Details'.

Are the prices shown per person or per room?

Prices shown will indicate whether they are per person or per stay, This should be confirmed at the time of booking.

How do I make a booking?

You will need to contact your chosen place to stay directly by contacting them by telephone, email, fax or clicking on their website link as shown in their listing.

Can I make a booking through your website?

We do not take bookings directly. We are a portal, and as such act as a directory of highly recommended places to stay. You will need to make contact with the establishment via one of the contact methods in their listing.

Do I benefit from special offers or discounts if I book online?

Our special relationships with our hotel partners mean that you can often benefit from an extended stay at the hotel at special negotiated discounts. Many of our hotels have 3 nights for the price of 2 or other special free night offers. You should check specific offers at the time of booking. Booking online also saves administration costs.

Do you offer child discounts?

Many of our hotels offer free child places if sharing a room with 2 adults, or a minimal charge (often payable locally) for a child if sharing with 2 adults. This is indicated in the hotel description. Please note that free child places depend on the child's age, and may vary by property. When making a booking enquiry, you should indicate children in your party if they are under 12 years of age (i.e. 0-11). Family rooms (2 adults and 2 children) may also be available at a supplement.

Can I send you a deposit?

You should not send any deposit to eBreak Hotels. Any deposit required will need to be agreed with the establishment where you are making your booking and then paid directly to them.

What credit/debit cards can I use to pay for my booking?

The majority of major credit and debit cards will be accepted. However some establishments will not accept American Express, Diners Club, Visa Electron, Plus and Solo. Please note that a 2% administration fee may be applied to bookings paid for by credit card. You should check for any additional fees at the time of booking.

Payments vary so you will need to check the terms at the time of your enquiry.

How can I get more information on certain hotels?

Our hotel descriptions provide you with information on each hotel, its location and facilities. If you need any more specific information about any of our properties, please call the proprietors directly.

What room types can I book online?

You can book single rooms, twin rooms (2 beds) or double rooms (1 double bed). Some hotels have suites and superior rooms available to book online too. Some of our places to stay do not have a website, if this is the case you can book directly by telephone.

Are all rooms en-suite?

The vast majority of our hotels and guest houses have en-suite facilities (bath/shower room and toilet). Some of our budget properties may have shared facilities - this is detailed in the property description.

Why do I pay more for a single room?

Single rooms are available at rates that the hotel considers to be competitive and often do not relate to the price paid by 2 people sharing a room. Please note that some single rooms in hotel can be smaller than double rooms and may be a room with a single bed.

Is breakfast included?

In most cases, your reservation will include either a continental or a buffet breakfast. A continental breakfast usually consists of tea/coffee, juice and a pastry/croissant. A buffet breakfast may be hot or cold, offering a self-service choice of cereal, bread, meat, cheese and fruit, and eggs and hot meats with the hot buffet. Some hotels are "Room Only" which means that breakfast is not included. This is indicated in the hotel/guest house description.

Can I select suites or rooms with sea-view etc?

Some are available to book online at certain properties, but check before confirming your booking. Please note that rooms with specific views may not be face-on and the view could be lateral and partially obscured by trees/plants or other buildings.

Can I make specific requests to the hotel - e.g. disabled facilities, non smoking etc?

To ensure that a special request can be dealt with, you should check at the time of your enquiry.

Will there be parking facilities?

Almost all offer parking facilities or have public car parks nearby. If this is the case, this will be indicated in the description.

Are last-minute booking possible online?

Yes. Many of our hotels are available to book online right up to the day before departure.

What time can I check in at the hotel?

Your accommodation is usually available from 3pm on the day of arrival.

What is the latest time that I can check out?

Check-out is usually at 11am on the day of departure.

What if I am arriving late at the hotel?

If you are likely to arrive after 11pm we suggest that you call the hotel on the day of arrival to warn them.

What happens if I am delayed or can't check in on the first day of my booking?

Your booking is guaranteed. However, if you are likely to arrive after 11pm we would advise you to call the hotel to warn them. The hotel contact details are provided on your accommodation confirmation.

Will I have to pay for anything at the hotel?

On arrival at the hotel, you may be asked for an imprint of your credit card (if you do not have a credit card you may be asked to leave significant cash deposit). This is to allow you to charge additional expenses (bar, restaurant, minibar, pay TV etc) to your room. You will need to pay for these additional expenses at the hotel when you check out.

Confirmation of Booking

 

How do I know my booking is confirmed?

Establishments vary, but once you have confirmed your booking, you will normally receive a confirmation by e-mail in the form of a PDF document within 24 hours. This is your confirmation of booking, and you shouldn't don't need to do anything else to confirm this, unless specifically requested to do so. You will then receive an invoice by post and by e-mail 2 weeks before your arrival date. If you book within 2 weeks of your arrival date, you will receive your invoice within 24 hours. If you have not received your confirmation as set out above please contact the establishment as soon as possible.

What will I receive after I have made my booking?

Within 24 hours or making your booking, you will receive your confirmation by e-mail. This details the booking you have made. You will also receive an invoice through the post. 2 weeks before your arrival date, and by e-mail.

How do I cancel or amend my booking?

For amendments or cancellations to your booking, including any name changes for your party, please contact the establishment directly as soon as possible.

Can I add special requests?

If you have any special requests for your booking such as: non smoking room or dietary requirements, please call or e-mail your destination establishment who will be happy to do this for you. Please note - special requests will normally be acknowledged by e-mail but cannot be guaranteed. An amendment fee of approximately £25 per person may apply (fees vary) to make changes to your booking up to 6 weeks before you depart. Within 6 weeks you may be charged anything between £25pp and the total cost of your stay, depending on any charges incurred or imposed by the individual establishment.

If you wish to cancel your reservation, cancellation charges apply.

How do I make a complaint?

We would hope that this event will not arise. If you are unhappy with the accommodation provided, you should report this to the hotel immediately. If they fail to put things right and the enjoyment of your holiday is affected, so we can investigate and try to solve the problem while you are still on holiday, please contact our Customer Support customerrelations@eBreakHotels.com . After returning home, if you are still unhappy with the service you have received, please send us an email detailing your complaint(s). This in turn will enable us to ensure that others in the future will not experience similar problems. As a last resort if we receive an unreasonable amount of complaints from an establishment they will be removed from our database.

Do I require a visa to travel/are there any passport restrictions?

You are responsible for having correct, valid documents before you travel. We do not accept liability if you are unable to get to your hotel because of insufficient or incorrect documents. Please note that, for British Citizens, every member of your party, including infants and children, requires their own valid 10-year passport and, if appropriate, a valid visa. For stays in the USA, all British Citizens must have a machine-readable passport (MRP).

Do you offer travel insurance?

Currently we do not offer travel insurance but in the not to distant future we will be. We can provide you with a list of insurers on request by emailing us at customerrelations@eBreakHotels.com .

Please be aware that since the 1st Sept 2005, the E111 travel health insurance document has been replaced by the new European Health Insurance (EHIC). The existing E111 form is no longer available and form-holders need to be aware that their E111's will cease to be valid from 1st Jan 2006.

For further information regarding your new EHIC documents follow the instructions below and have the following information to hand before going on line or telephoning;

Please visit www.dh.gov.uk/travellers and follow the instructions. Your card should be delivered within 7 days.

Please contact the helpline on 0845 606 2030. Your card should be delivered within 10 days.

To Apply by post;

To apply by post, pick up the EHIC form and pre-addressed envelope from the Post Office. Your card should be delivered within 21 days. For a nominal fee, the Post Office will check your completed application form and forward it for processing. This service is optional.

What do you do with my personal information?

Information you provide will be held on eBreak Hotels for use by us and other Group companies for the following purposes:

Booking Information: Information about you (and the travelling party) may be passed to holiday providers, border control authorities and other and may include things such as dietary requirements, your (or your travelling party's) physical or mental health. This information may also be transferred abroad.

Statistical Analysis/Market Research

Fraud Prevention/Debt Collection

We may contact you via e-mail, letter or phone with details of eBreak Hotels or selected suppliers' products and services including financial services which may be of interest to you. We may also monitor and/or record telephone conversations with eBreak Hotels for security purposes and for staff training. By entering into a contract with you, you agree to the use and disclosure of information by the Group as described.

Do you have a brochure?

To ensure that we offer you the best value for money with your hotel booking, our product is only available online. We provide full details of each property on our site so we don't have to invest in expensive brochure printing and can ultimately offer you a better service.
